André van Duin continues to refuse Best Singers: ‘Doesn’t suit me’

André van Duin still does not want to participate in the musical television hit Beste Zangers. He has been asked for the program for years, but the Omroep MAX star is not open to it.

Best Singers is a successful music program in which famous artists sing songs for each other. Some of those songs become straight hits. The program has given many careers a major boost. André van Duin, however, is not waiting for that. The comedian continues to refuse to participate.

Too old

Presenter Jan Smit already revealed five years ago that André did not want to participate: “I would very much like to have André van Duin on the couch. He said: ‘Yes, Jan, I’m too old for that.’ I said: ‘No, André, not at all.’ It is precisely those people with experience – now with Anita Meyer and Dennie Christian – that you must have.”

André is now another five years older, namely 75, but his age does not appear to be the decisive reason for holding off the boat.

‘Does not fit’

Jan reveals in Veronica Superguide that André simply does not like it. “André van Duin does not think the program suits him. Too bad, I’d love it if he joined. Although I have nothing to say about the participating artists, we have an editor for that,” he says.

He continues: “Fortunately, because that’s how it remains surprising for me. If only artists who are in my playlist would participate, it would get monotonous!”
