André Hazes jr. still does not want to join Wilfred Genee programs, the presenter revealed in his radio show The Friday Move. “He definitely doesn’t want to sit with me.”
Wilfred Genee does not have to count on ever getting the much-discussed André Hazes Jr. in his program. The folk singer still does not want to know anything about him, the presenter reveals in The Friday Move. “No, I don’t know him well, because he doesn’t want to sit with me. He really doesn’t want to sit with me at all.”
Angry Andre
André’s Wilfred boycott has been going on for about five years, namely since he was a guest on his football talk show. “He once sat at VI Oranje Stays Home and then he was offended that we did not ask him questions about football,” he said years ago.
What really stings André, however, is that Wilfred has criticized his repertoire. The presenter once said that the singer is too young to sing the classic Ik Live My Own Life. “I think you have to be a certain age to sing this song?”

The last time André was roped into a Wilfred program was in 2019, namely for his then show on Radio Veronica. Then he canceled at the last minute: “Wilfred is aware that I never want to work with him again. It is therefore strange that he is still trying to schedule it.”
Childish, Wilfred thought. “Years ago I sent him an e-mail: ‘I understood that you were angry with me, maybe it would be wise for us to have contact. This is my number.’ Never heard from again. And then you get an email like this. Yes, then you are very mature. Then you will understand, life.”
Junior
It also disturbs André immensely that Wilfred keeps calling him ‘junior’, because he really wants to claim the name of his deceased father, so without ‘jr.’ behind. “André Hazes Jr. himself removed Jr., while I had left it as a tribute to his father who has achieved so much,” said Wilfred earlier.
Now, in The Friday Move, Wilfred still calls him André Hazes Jr. Laughing: “Oh, I can’t say that anymore, André Hazes Jr., shit! haha.”
