It has now been a year of bumblebee lessons between André Hazes Jr. and his mother Rachel Hazes. Although she has previously turned it into a complete legal circus, he appears to indeed suspect her of leaking his personal information breakup letter to Sarah van Soelen. Tonight is the latest episode of his reallifesoap published and included in it juice.

Nettles

André last spoke to Rachel last March, behind the scenes of the Holland Zingt Hazes concert, and his camera crew was there. They greet each other and then André makes a pretty loud joke. “I know where you are and then I do ‘if I forget you’, right on screen!”, he says, pointing his finger at Rachel.

It leads to some awkward laughter. When Rachel then asks whether André has received her flowers, he indicates that he has received nothing. “I received nettles in your name!”

No more contact

This moment is the last time he had contact with her, André then says. “Then I spoke to her and there was never any real contact after that, no.”

Then Els Hofland, Rachel’s sister, comes into the picture: “Very honest: I wouldn’t have to think about not having contact with my children, because I think my children and grandchildren are the most important things in my life. Look, I don’t wish it on anyone, and neither does Dré, that he is now having an argument with his mother again.”

Really angry

Why do André and Rachel act so jovially in that fragment? “That was of course the first time I saw her, on that rehearsal day, and then I wondered: how can we not do each other, you know? That was pretty okay. I don’t know if it is because there are people there. We saw each other at Holland Zingt Hazes and it was actually quite okay.”

He continues: “There was a time when I was really angry with her and when I saw her I turned my head. But I think the way we live now, it probably can’t be otherwise. That it’s all or nothing. And if it can’t be everything, then it should be nothing.”

Mo and Rachel

André also makes the link with his on-again, off-again fiancée Monique Westenberg. “Let me put it this way: I can’t have everything, so if I have Monique in my life, then it goes without saying that my mother is no longer there and vice versa.”

The situation has not changed, André said in RTL Boulevard last night. “It is what it is. Maybe that’s all I can say about it. You accept it. At a certain point you realize very well that you no longer want to put your energy into that, because it is just what it is.”

Flop concert

André’s long-awaited Holiday Auctions concert takes place tonight. Is Rachel there? “No, or she must have secretly bought a ticket at Holiday Auctions. Hahaha.”

According to André it will be great. “I gave up part of my salary, so to speak, because I just want a lot of fire. I just want a big show, you know? Those top spots, that top ring, that is VakantieVeilingen. I think I’ll make it myself. They were, yes. Just those chairs.”
