André Hazes Jr. more or less dumped his controversial mother Rachel Hazes on live television last night. “I say goodbye to anyone from whom I do not get positive energy.”
Things went quickly again between André Hazes Jr. and his mother Rachel Hazes. They were still close together until the end of last year – he even lived with her – but that quickly turned sour: around the time his letter to Sarah van Soelen was leaked, their contact came to a standstill. Rachel denies that she leaked that letter.
No contact
In January, Rachel mentioned ‘disrupted contact’ with André, in March he indicated that he kept an ‘appropriate distance’ from her and in June he talked about ‘minimal contact’. And now, almost four months later, André is speaking about it in even more definitive terms, namely at Humberto Tan’s talk show table.
Humberto brought up the disrupted contract last night in his talk show on RTL 4. “Sergio (Vyent, ed.) is just talking about how he has no contact with his mother. I thought: you must like how he talks about it. “
Parting
Then André drops the word ‘farewell’ without batting an eyelid. “Yes absolutely. That is not only in that situation, but anyone from whom I do not get positive energy, I say goodbye to them.”
Does Rachel know that yet? That André has already said goodbye to her for himself? Painful. “I’ve had my troubles, I’ve had my fill, I’ve had blisters from my own things. And I can no longer have people in my life who cannot go along with what I want now.”
Ticket sales
André also responds to his disappointing ticket sales. “Yes, look. Two years ago my ego would speak and I would be very upset about it, I think. I have learned certain things and I am very realistic. For example, my father’s show had 24 thousand fans all the time. Whenever he gave a show, 24 thousand people always came.”
He continues: “After his death, I came up with Leef and then I simply took over the 24 thousand, because they thought: hey, that’s nice. Then I came out of that clinic and I realized: does what I do make me happy? I have come up with new music, which has also turned some people off. I have to start over.”
Full house
All in all, it seems that André will soon be in Ahoy without the venue being sold out. “Of course I want a full house, that makes the show much more fun, but if there are 10,000 people in the room, then I will have just the same party. I really don’t mind having to struggle again.”
Finally, how are his addictions going? “Danger is always around the corner. When I look at Dave Roelvink, who has returned to the clinic after three years, I think: how can it happen? I know that he felt just as strongly about it as I did. The easiest stick behind the door is my son.”
