André Hazes Jr. is still calmly recovering from his enormous emotional burnout. “You can compare him a bit with Michael Jackson”, says Guido den Aantrekker.
While André Hazes Jr. was still enjoying a non-stop holiday in the summer with his snack Sarah van Soelen, he has been celebrating non-stop holidays on his own ever since. Under the heading of ’emotional burnout’ he makes one journey after another, especially in the United States.

How is Andre doing now? Story boss Guido den Aantrekker, who was once asked by André to become his stepfather, tells Shownieuws: “That question is of course on everyone’s lips. He is traveling around and yes, I know a bit about the hat and the brim, and you have to imagine that André, of course, from his early childhood…”
“I think André passed away when he was ten and he has always been in the spotlight. As far as I’m concerned you can compare it a bit with Michael Jackson, who of course didn’t have a normal childhood. Nor does Andre. He is desperately looking for himself and America is a country where he has always felt very happy.”
Looking for André
André is now back in the United States for that reason, Guido explains. “He’s just trying to find it there now.”
Weekend boss Bart Ettekoven: “You see it quite often, don’t you, with people who are stars from a young age, such as Macaulay Culkin. You also see that Thomas Berge has had a huge problem with drugs. They’ll come out eventually, but it’s quite a bit, isn’t it?”
Guido: “They couldn’t have been teenagers. It is of course such an important age in which you form yourself.”
Hazes is the base
André’s mother Rachel Hazes does not have a burnout yet. Every day he enjoys getting the most out of André Hazes’ musical legacy. Now she has launched a new SBS 6 show: Hazes is de Basis.
The reactions to that are a bit disappointing, Guido admits. “They were slightly less if you at least relate it to the viewing figures. It was at the bottom of the top 25. (…) Rachel remains optimistic, as she always is, and she says that she has had a lot of positive reactions on Instagram and they are of course good for her.”
