Anderson Peters has two big races in the program this summer, one of which probably won’t tell the Finns much.

The Orimattila spear race was starred by the 2019 world champion Anderson Peterswho, however, punched the whistles in the bag even after the opening throw.
The Grenadian, who threw as many as 93.07 meters this season, said after the race what it was all about.
– I suffered a back injury in my previous race and I decided to throw today just to know how my back feels.
– There was too much pain, so I missed the race, Peters opened for Iltalehti.
Peters has been preparing for the Eugene World Championships in Finland during June. Life also tastes far from the Caribbean.
– There are glorious spear traditions and high-quality training centers here. Really nice country.
Almost “SE man”
Peters, who has enjoyed his weeks in Finland, knows that Finns who love javelin throwing are drooling after a shooter of his level.
– I would definitely be a real size here if I were Finnish, Peters laughs.
In fact, Peters would be almost the holder of the Finnish record. The record set by the man in May is only two cents away Aki Parviainen 93.09 of the SE’s emissions in 1999.
– It is quite funny that the records in Grenada and Finland are almost the same. It feels special and also good.
In his home country, however, Peters is not even the brightest athlete.
– I’m a pretty big star there, but a 400-meter Olympic champion Kirani James is even more popular than me.

Commonwealth Games
Peters also says that in addition to the World Cup, he has another main goal this season that sounds quite surprising in Finnish.
– We are also aiming for the Commonwealth Games, which is a really big deal for us. The level is hard too.
The Commonwealth Games between the countries of the former British Empire, like the Olympics, are held every four years.
This year’s Games will be held in England at the turn of July-August after the Eugene World Cup.
– The World Cup is, of course, the main goal, but championships always mean a lot, Peters inches.
