‘And yes, I was angry with BLVD’

Rob Kemps admits that he has tried to thwart Today Inside and that he has become very angry with RTL Boulevard. “I had a bad day, that can happen.”

René van der Gijp planned a month and a half ago to analyze an excerpt from Chansons. The editors of Today Inside had already received permission to use the images, but then Rob Kemps laid down for it. He didn’t want to be ridiculed and had the permission withdrawn.

Bad day

It’s true, Rob now admits. He was in De Oranjewinter last night and emphasized that he had never been angry there. “It was a misunderstanding. I had a bad day, that can happen. I was in Center Parcs with five children, you know… Then you sometimes have such a day that you just have a lesser day.”

He continues: “Then I received an app from: ‘We have sent Chansons images to VI.’ Then I thought: no, I really don’t feel like that. Then I made a mistake and said, “Well, let’s not do that, because I don’t feel like it.” It turned out that permission had already been given, which was then withdrawn.”

Ears flapping

Rob states that it was then all taken out of context. “Then Gijp said on television: ‘He called and he was furious!’ Then Wilfred asks: ‘Did he call himself?’ Gijp: ‘Yes, he called himself!’ So I was banging my ears and thinking: I didn’t call at all, I didn’t call the editors either.”

He continues: “All I said was: ‘I don’t feel like it today.’ I do regret that, because now I was the dick for six weeks and otherwise I would have been rid of it in 43 hours.”

Kim Jong Un

It’s not too bad with his anger outbursts, says Rob. “I had a bad day and I’m not the Kim Jong-un of Chansons, but I said: ‘If it’s up to me, not today.’ So that. Then I call Gijp the next day and I said: ‘I didn’t call you anyway.’ And then you said: ‘Did you call the editors?’ ‘No, I didn’t call the editors either.’”

René: “No, I didn’t say that you called me, but called the editors, because that’s what the editors told me. But it doesn’t matter.”

Angry at BLVD

Wilfred: “But all those other times you got angry, at Boulevard and those other times?”

Rob: “No, I wasn’t angry then! Well, look, Boulevard then says: ‘Rob Kemps calls Gijp furiously.’ So I send an app to Boulevard: ‘This is not quite right.’ Then they called, “Should we add anything else?” Then I went to the swimming pool in between, that was not easy either, and then I was angry.”
