With the crown, Charles III immediately gets his hands on a ‘family business’ worth 28 billion euros. Because that’s what the British monarchy is worth. Although he and the rest of the royal family earn ‘only’ a few tens of millions from this every year. Then the direct legacy of the late Queen seems more attractive: at least 500 million euros in money, estate and – yes – rare stamps. Moreover, free of inheritance tax.
