According to media reports, Carlo Ancelotti is about to switch to Brazilian national coach. The head coach of Real Madrid should take over the position at Seleção in front of the international play window in June, reported the British broadcaster “Sky Sports” and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Accordingly, the Brazilian association is “very confident” with regard to the obligation of the 65-year-old.
Ancelotti’s contract at Real is still running until the coming year, but after a disappointing season, the Italian is facing out. “I can continue or stop. That will decide in the next few weeks,” said the coach after the spectacular 2-3 defeat in the Spanish cup final against FC Barcelona.
Brazil has long been advertising for Ancelotti, also public. The Italian would be the first non-Brazilian national coach since the Uruguayer Ramón Platero 100 years ago (for an overview). The previous national coach Dorival Júnior was released at the end of March after a significant defeat against Archrival Argentina. It is open whether Real separates from Ancelotti before the end of the season and the club World Cup in the summer, according to the British broadcaster this is likely. Bayer Leverkusens Xabi Alonso is acted as a possible successor among the royal.
