The 1. FC Köln has collected a setback shortly before the big goal in the competitive promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga, but continues to work at the top of the table.

The team of coach Gerhard Struber lost 0: 1 (0: 0) at Hannover 96, but benefited from a mistake by the pursuer Hamburger SV against Karlsruher SC and has continued to look at the direct return.

Lars Gindorf (57.) met for the Hanoverians, who had separated from coach André Breitenreiter on Wednesday after only four months. It was the first success for 96 after four games without a win. After the yellow-red card for Learst Paqarada (50th), the Cologne team, with a man, did less, meanwhile to take a big step back to the Bundesliga.

With 54 points, the starting point for the FC is still good with three outstanding games, but the competition is lurking.

1. FC Köln Long outnumber

The numerous people who traveled with Cologne were in a party mood before the game, due to the red pyro smoke swaths from the away block, the game was kicked off with a three-minute start. The first dangerous chance then belonged to the hosts, who are currently being looked after by assistant coach Lars Barlemann, U19 coach Dirk Lottner and U17 coach Christian Schulz. Hyun-ju Lee put the ball past the goal on the left (8th).

The Cologneers acted rather passively at the beginning. Hanover had more of the game, FC goalkeeper Marvin Schwäbe had to intervene several times in the first half.

The hosts also got a better start to the second half, and Cologne also had to do less with one man after Paqarada’s dismissal. Hannover used his advantage through Gindorf, Cologne tried to defend himself.
