The Ukrainian Football Association plans to take the national team ex-captain From Anatoly Tymoshhtshuk all honorary titles and medals.
According to TSN, the Ukrainian website the reason is Tymoshhtshuk’s current job. The former footballer will serve as the assistant coach of the Russian team St. Petersburg Zenit.
Tymoshhtshuk has not commented on Russia’s attack on Ukraine at all. He has also continued his work in St. Petersburg.
The Football Association of Ukraine considers that Tymoshhtshuk’s silence violated the ethical rules of the association.
The Ethics and Fair Play Committee of the Union is proposing that Tymoshhtshuk be deprived of the license of a Ukrainian professional coach and all the awards and titles he has earned in Ukraine.
Tymoshtshuk also wants to take away all national championships, medals and cup wins.
The latest item on the sanctions list is the removal of Tymoshhtshuk from the register of players representing the Ukrainian national team.
In his career, Tymoshtshuk played 144 matches for the A national team of Ukraine. At the club level, he represented, among others, Zenit, Bayern Munich and Shaktar Donetsk of Ukraine.
The player won the Ukrainian Cup and Championship three times. He was elected as many times as the football player of the year in Ukraine.
Tymoshhtshuk also has a Russian championship on the placard, a supercup win, and a Uefan Cup and supercup win.
Tymoshtshuk ended his playing career in 2017 and became Zenit’s assistant coach the same year.

Tymoshhtshuk’s actions have been severely criticized in Ukrainian football circles.
Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedortshuk comments that he is disappointed with the actions of the ex-player he considers patriotic.
– There is no land without traitors. Everyone chooses their own way. Tymoshtshuk is a clear example of something completely different being revealed under a fine wrapper.
Former national team player Oleksandr Aliev is experiencing Tymoshhtshuk put money ahead of his homeland.
– I’m disappointed. I don’t even want to talk about him. He has always used a pledge between Ukraine. Now this man was messing.
– I understand that he works for Zenit, but he could show his support in words. He gets fired if he talks. He doesn’t care a damn about the people who suffer. Not about the people who were encouraging him on the national team. For him, money is most important.
