US singer Anastacia (54, “I’m Outta Love”) will cover German songs for her new album – and will start with the celebration anthem “Days like these” from the Toten Hosen.
“It’s a party song. And I feel that too when I sing it,” said the musician of the German Press Agency. “I’m happy to be able to share that: with Italians, Brits, Australians. There are so many people who don’t even know how great this song is.”
The song “Best Days” will be released this Friday. Her pants frontman Campino (60) personally sang the English translation as a demo. “He loved me singing it and luckily he likes the version. He’s proud and approved of it,” said the 54-year-old.
In autumn, the US singer wants to release a whole album (“Our Songs”) with German classics. “Through this project I discovered a love for German music that I had never known before. It brought me closer to the German culture and language.”
Anastacia was particularly successful in Europe in the 2000s, with hit singles like “I’m Outta Love”, “Paid My Dues” or “Sick And Tired”.
