ANALYSIS. Even if the West secretly agrees to this little bit of war, it won’t buy it peace

Is it war now that the Russians are rolling into a part of Ukraine where that country already had nothing to say? And how bad does the West really think that? Have the Americans been warning all along of a devastating invasion — even bombs on Kiev — so that we would now say, “Wow, it’s not that bad”? It was President Joe Biden who distinguished between a little and a lot of aggression. But he still doesn’t know which of the two he will get. And it will not be he who chooses.
