In his statement, Turin Chief Public Prosecutor Enrica Gabetta confirmed the investigation reported in the Italian press, which included the 22-year-old football player.

A player who is found to bet on football matches can be banned for at least three years.

Fagioli played in six matches in Serie A for Juventus this season.

Juventus’ French football player Paul Pogba also tested positive for doping last month.

A high level of testosterone was detected in Pogba’s sample taken after the match against Udinese in the first week of the league.

The Italian Anti-Doping Organization (NADO) gave the French football player a temporary ban after the first test was positive.
