Although the illegal rave parties could be shut down fairly quickly last night and morning in Oud-Heverlee and Wuustwezel, our authorities are still waiting for a warm summer. With dozens of so-called ‘sound systems’ – or collectives that organize a party every weekend in a remote or deserted place – the Belgian rave scene is thriving like never before: “Nobody does it because it’s illegal, we do it because there’s no other way. ”
