An improvised explosive device was used in a terrorist attack near a depot in Lugansk

During the terrorist attack on the morning of February 23, an improvised explosive device was used near the trolleybus depot in Lugansk, said Aleksey Hetmansky, officer of the Lugansk People’s Republic’s representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC), reports “Lugansk information center”.

“At the scene, it was revealed that there had been an explosion of four pillars – supports for trolleybus lines. They were blown up by an overhead high-explosive directional improvised explosive device,” Getmansky said.

He added that the poles were destroyed by 60-70% and were in disrepair, the explosion in the car park had broken windows. In addition, one of the pillars is located 70 m from the warehouse with pyrotechnic products. The warehouse building was also damaged.

“If pyrotechnic products had detonated, there could have been more global consequences that could have led to a large number of civilian casualties,” Getmansky said.
