An end to teenagers’ social media addiction – strict requirements from the EU for internet waste

Large social media have to open their systems to the EU Commission. Several countries are considering imposing restrictions on social media companies. The subject of concern is especially how social media affects the mental health of young people. According to Politico, the EU also restricts social media with its Digital Services Act (DSA). The DSA is demanding that social media services with more than 45 million users, such as YouTube, Tiktok and Facebook, open their systems to inspection by the European Commission. The primary purpose is to ensure that the services do not cause harm to minors.
