In 2022, barely 22,000 Belgians emptied their savings account and then transferred the money to another bank. Peanuts, out of a total of about 17 million savings accounts. Belgians clearly remain dog-loyal to their bank, even though we know that our savings don’t yield enough there. We especially don’t feel like ‘the hassle’ of a bank switch, but there are still things that bind us to our bank.
