Amy Pieters is entering the next phase of her intensive rehabilitation process. The 31-year-old cyclist from Zwanenburg is transferred to the Daan Theeuwes Center for Intensive Neurorehabilitation in Woerden. At the end of last year she had a hard fall during a training session on the road, in which she suffered serious brain injuries.
“At the Daan Theeuwes Center, Amy will continue to work even harder and more specifically on her recovery. We are hopeful that Amy can also show great results and improvements here”, can be read on the personal website of the 31-year-old rider.

Pieters had a hard fall in December during a training session in Spain with the national track team. She suffered serious brain damage. In Spain she underwent skull surgery after which she was transferred to the Netherlands.
