Amsterdam women win after shoot-out Euro Hockey League, Bloemendaal among the men | Sport

Den Bosch won the EHL last year and was slightly favorite. The team of trainer Marieke Dijkstra also quickly took the lead in the match with a goal from top scorer Frédérique Matla. Amsterdam came back strongly and equalized via Filiz Tuzgöl, but just before half-time Matla rammed the ball into the goal again and put Den Bosch at 2-1.

The team from Brabant seemed to have the game under control in the second half, until Fay van der Elst pulled out and brought Amsterdam back to the same level. No goal was scored in the final phase and the video referee had to make remarkably often decisions about whether or not penalty corners were justified.

Hockey players Bloemendaal again the best in the Euro Hockey League

The hockey players of Bloemendaal have again won the Euro Hockey League (EHL). The team of trainer Rick Mathijssen was clearly too strong for the German Rot Weiss Köln in the final in the Wagener stadium in Amstelveen: 4-0. Bloemendaal has won the EHL four times before, in 2009, 2013, 2018 and 2021.

Halfway through, Bloemendaal was already leading by two goals. Jorrit Croon opened the score in the initial phase of the second quarter. The international reacted attentively when the ball came back into the field via the bar. Croon tapped the ball into the goal from the air: 1-0.

Florian Fuchs doubled the lead in the 24th minute. The German, who will stop playing top hockey after this season, was the end of a fast, smooth attack. Fuchs was able to push in from close range: 2-0.

Rot Weiss Köln had little to contribute and also in the third quarter Bloemendaal remained the dominant party. Several penalty corners awarded resulted in no goal.

In the beginning of the fourth quarter, Rot Weiss Köln was allowed to take some penalty corners, but the Dutch specialist Mink van der Weerden (33) was unable to reduce the tension. Bloemendaal struck via Jasper Brinkman (3-0). In the final phase, Roel Bovendeert also scored in the one-sided final battle.

In addition to the EHL, Bloemendaal also hopes to take the title in the main division. The club is well at the top of the regular competition and starts the play-offs with confidence.
