Amsterdam VVD wants to pay tribute to victim of hostage and agents

If it is up to the Amsterdam VVD, the Bulgarian man who was held hostage for hours on Tuesday evening in the Apple Store on Leidseplein in Amsterdam will be honored by the mayor, among others. The party sent written questions to the city council today.

VVD councilor Claire Martens speaks of ‘decisive, heroic and extremely professional action’ by the police and its various units. “There was no small role for the brave victim, who through his act in a split second ensured that the perpetrator could be overpowered.”

According to Martens, the officers saved dozens of lives. “Our agents deserve recognition, appreciation and our deep respect. They are there for us day and night and ensure that our streets remain safe.”
