Tram traffic has been disrupted tonight due to two demonstrations at De Balie debate center at Leidseplein tonight. Inside, a debate took place earlier this evening.
Forum for Democracy wanted to demonstrate at 7 p.m. because the party was not allowed to participate in the final debate of De Balie and Het Parool. Photos on Twitter show that the party had placed its own trailer at De Balie.
In addition, there are activists at the debate center to demonstrate against Forum for Democracy. They carry banners on which, for example, the text ‘no racism and fascism in the council’ can be seen.
According to De Balie director Yoeri Alberecht, the party is too small and Forum for Democracy had too little input in the city council over the past four years.
