The Colorful Rebel Spring Summer 2023 collection is inspired by a “summer in the city” feel. Because of Covid, we started looking at our own city with different eyes. We couldn’t travel abroad, but it gave us a new perspective on our own city of Amsterdam. A journey of discovery began that would never end.
This is also how we found out what to wear around town in a hot summer. We discovered new materials such as crochet fabric and satin for women and 400gr washed cotton for men. However, as the weather in Amsterdam is also unpredictable, the light, summery fabrics we use for our SS23 collection alternate with styles that are suitable for rainy days. In addition to different textures and fits, many different colors also appear in the collection – a big part of our DNA, because with the name Colorful Rebel, we can’t present a collection without colour!
Some pieces are designed as unisex models. At Colorful Rebel we love the casual oversized look, where you can also share the perfect, loosely cut hoodie with your boyfriend – or vice versa. So it seemed natural to us to start selling our items as unisex items as well. After all, when it comes to hoodies, we like to use models from the men’s department – not all hoodies are the same!
In addition to a comprehensive women’s collection, this year is also the first in which we are also focusing on a men’s collection. This builds on our broad product portfolio for women – and we also go all out with the men’s collection.
We treated the men’s collection as one big experiment – instead of going down the most commercially promising path, we wanted to see if we could create a high quality and outstanding collection that would really add value to the existing market. Every label knows that a camouflage-style jacket is harder to sell in April or May than an ordinary t-shirt. But we still wanted to implement designs that challenge the status quo. The quality of our products is so high that the purchase of a product accompanies you for more than one season. The look of this particular style has become almost too good and reflects Colorful Rebel in an authentic way – in the now and for the future.
