Amsterdam folk singer Davy M. suspected of attempted manslaughter

The Amsterdam folk singer Davy M. (42) is suspected of attempted manslaughter, attempted aggravated assault and possession of a firearm with accompanying ammunition. He was arrested Saturday after an incident with a firearm that left one injured.

The incident happened Saturday morning in M.’s home on Zeeburgereiland. M. is suspected of having shot at the other person present in the house, who was injured in the process. The cause and exact circumstances of the incident are unknown.

Arraigned

M. was arrested after the incident and brought before the public prosecutor on Tuesday. The examining magistrate has now decided that M. must be detained for at least another two weeks. M. was born in Amsterdam and is well known in the Amsterdam nightlife circuit, where he has been performing since the 1990s.
