National coach Jeroen Otter of the Dutch short trackers will take a step back next season. The born Amsterdammer will take a sabbatical in the 2022/23 season. He will be replaced by former short tracker Niels Kerstholt.
The 57-year-old Otter will return in May 2023. The Amsterdammer will develop the short track program with Kerstholt towards the next Olympic Games, 2026 in Milan. Despite his sabbatical, Otter will remain available as a sounding board one day a week. Since 2010 he has been employed by the KNSB skating association.
