Amsterdam acorn mouse couple provides offspring

The acorn mouse is only found in the Netherlands on the Bemelerberg and the Savelsbos, both in South Limburg. There are only a few dozen animals left in the wild. This makes it the rarest animal in the Netherlands. The acorn mouse is a small, shy rodent that belongs to the dormouse, a group of rodents in between the families of squirrels and mice. The nocturnal animal prefers to hide in the bushes.
