National soccer player Nadiem Amiri is about to move from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen to Italian first division club Genoa. The 25-year-old is expected in Italy for a medical check-up on Tuesday.
According to Italian media, the midfielder will initially be loaned out, but Genoa also reportedly has a purchase option. The German coach Alexander Blessin (48) has been in action at the Ligurian first division team since last week.
According to the club, the long-time professional, who was last in charge of KV Oostende in Belgium, signed a contract until the summer of 2024.
He inherited the fired Ukrainian coach Andrey Shevchenko.
