“The object was shot down by U.S. Air Force and National Guard pilots,” wrote Elissa Slotkin, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, which lies south and west of the lake. Earlier Sunday, Representative Jack Bergman had stated that an object above the lake had been “dismantled”.
The US and Canada have been on high alert for aerial intrusions in recent weeks since the appearance of a white, conspicuous balloon over US skies earlier this month.
