The monks of Spencer Brewery, America’s only Trappist brewery, have come to the conclusion “after more than a year of deliberation and reflection” that brewing beer is not a “viable activity” and that they are closing the brewery. The brewery reports this on Facebook. This leaves ten breweries, five of which are Belgian, that may continue to carry the Authentic Trappist Product logo.
