American girl (9) reunited with family after kidnapping during bike ride | Abroad

Charlotte Sena, a nine-year-old girl from New York state, has been reunited with her family after she disappeared during a bike ride on Saturday evening. The girl was found “in good health,” police said. She was probably kidnapped by a man in his forties, who has since been arrested.

Last Saturday, Charlotte wanted to cycle around Moreau Lake State Park, a park in eastern New York state. When she had not returned fifteen minutes later, her parents began searching the area. Some campers in the area also helped them with the search.

According to the police, a total of four hundred people were looking for the girl. In addition, dogs, two drones, boats and six underwater rescue teams were also deployed, New York Governor Kathy Hochul said. The FBI was also present.

The nine-year-old’s family received a ransom note. The police found fingerprints on the letter and were thus able to identify a suspect. The person in question, Craig Nelson Ross Jr. (47), is said to have come into contact with the police in 1999 after driving under the influence. The man currently lives in a camper behind his mother’s house. Some officers raided his home and found Charlotte in a closet. The man in his forties has now been placed in custody.

Hochul told a news conference that Charlotte “knew she was being saved.” “She knew she was in safe hands.” The girl’s aunt responded to the American ‘NBC News’ about her disappearance. “She almost disappeared into thin air. It was just a few minutes between the time she was last seen and the time she was gone,” Jene Sena said.
