After his sensational departure, NFL scandal professional Antonio Brown has made serious allegations against his ex-coach Bruce Arians. The 33-year-old wrote in a statement that he wanted to force him to go on the field during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game at the New York Jets on Sunday, even though Brown suffered from an ankle injury that will soon be operated on.
“I told him I couldn’t play anymore because of the pain. He didn’t get medical help, but yelled at me that my time with the Bucs was over,” said Brown, who admitted that he was wrong had: “But: That was provoked by someone who wanted to tell me that I shouldn’t feel pain.”
The Bucs defended themselves against the accusation and stated in a statement that Brown had previously been treated for the ankle injury, but was “cleared by our medical staff” for the game against the Jets. At no point during the game did Brown “point out that he could not play”. The franchise also tried several times to make an appointment with an orthopedic specialist, but Brown “did not respond”.
Memorable finish
What followed made headlines around the world. Brown pulled his jersey and protective gear from his body during the game, waved to the audience and danced provocatively through the end zone before leaving the stadium half-naked. There was hardly anything outwardly to indicate that Brown was injured or in pain at the time.
Tampa, led by superstar Tom Brady, won the game after the departure with a lot of effort with 28:24. Coach Arians immediately announced that Brown was “no more Buc” and concluded: “This is the end of the story.” He would have known nothing of an injury to the passport recipient. The Bucs officially announced in their statement that the contract for the wide receiver has been terminated with “immediate effect”.
Brown, on the other hand, pointed out in his statement that an MRI examination had diagnosed loose joint bodies in the ankle, a torn ligament and cartilage damage.
Brown had attracted negative attention several times in his career. Most recently, he was banned from the league for three games, presumably because of the presentation of a forged vaccination card.
