American female celebrities are taking a stand on the abolition of the right to abortion

Michelle Obama, Olivia Rodrigo and Lizzo, among others, have expressed dissatisfaction with the abolition of the right to abortion.

This week, Iltalehti reported how the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a preliminary Roe vs Wade ruling that had previously secured a universal abortion right.

With the annulment of the decision, the right to abortion will be decided by the states in the future. Legislation on abortions is expected to be tightened in as many as half of the U.S. states.

Among other things, Michelle Obama published an article expressing her dissatisfaction with the decision.

– My heart is broken.

Obama goes on to write about how the United States should have learned from the past, when many women risked their lives for illegal abortions.

– My heart is broken for all the people who lost their fundamental right to make a decision about their bodies.

Numerous U.S. public figures have also commented on the decision. Pop artist Lizzo, among others, said on Twitter that he, along with Live Nation, is donating a million dollars for safe abortions.

– I’m donating $ 500,000 from the proceeds of my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights. Live Nation got involved, so we’re getting a million dollars together, he writes.

Lizzo was also actively involved in Juneteenth Day of the Year, celebrated annually in the United States on June 19, the anniversary of the end of African American slavery.
