A 60-year-old man had explained to the jury that he jumped into his car to escape the anger of his wife, who had just caught him in the arms of his mistress. The latter was also angry because she had been cheated by the man.
The man confessed that he was indeed under the influence of alcohol, but that the flight with his car was necessary to escape a real physical danger, which is allowed by law.
