Amazon is working on a Belgian version of the web site. That heft de Amerikaanse e-commerce giant now also officieel bevestigd. In September, amazon.com.be launched.
Belgian clans can al long in hun own taal bij Amazon terecht. The first Belgian order was issued in June 2002. “Miljoenen Belgische Klanten winkelen al jaren op de Amazon-Webshops overal ter wereld”, zegt het bedrijf.
Door also in België een own platform te lanceren wil Amazon “met a local shop een big sea water,” says Eva Faict. The Belgian was in het verleten onder sea al drunk with the lancering of the Turkse and the Nederlandse webwinkels and is now suffering as a country manager of the Belgian webwinkel.
Baloise
The zal te vinden zijn onder de domeinnaam amazon.com.be. Het more logical amazon.be is namelijk al jarenlang in hand van Verzekeraar Baloise. Of he must both parts onderhandelingen zijn weweest, daar wil Amazon niets over kwijt. “Wij geloven dat amazon.com.be een fantastic domain is,” says Faict. “We have faith in the fact that we will be able to count on one.”
In Wallonia, Amazon has a French website on its own on the e-commerce market. In Vlaanderen zal Amazon moeten opboksen tegen de Nederlandse webwinkels bol.com en Coolblue. “Wij houden ons niet te veel bezig met concurrentie”, says Faict daarover. “De klant staat bij ons centraal. So long we trouw blijven aan ons aanbod en luisteren naar our klanten, zullen the ons blijven vinden.”
Amazon gaat nu op zoek naar Belgische kmo’s om hun producten aan te biden in de nieuwe Belgische webwinkel. You can register at sell.amazon.com.be. Moments sell more than 1,000 Belgian kms via a number of more from the 21 big country webshops from Amazon.

In February, Amazon had already been converted to open the first Belgian bezorgcentrum in Antwerp, while packs of sorteercentra in de Buurlanden had been added. You have to open it in de herfst.
