The German national soccer team will be accompanied by a camera team for a documentary before and during the controversial World Cup in Qatar. The Amazon streaming service Prime Video announced its project on Monday.
The six-part documentary series “All or Nothing” is intended to show fans what happens in front of and behind the scenes at the tournament in November and December.
“It’s really the case that we let everyone do it very closely. I think it will be a good thing,” said national coach Hansi Flick at the presentation of the project, which is being implemented in cooperation with UFA. The director is Christian Twente (“The Germans”). The series is scheduled to air in spring 2023.
The human rights situation in the desert state of Qatar should also be addressed. “We will definitely not ignore the topic. I don’t think the players want that either,” said UFA Managing Director Nico Hofmann.
At the home World Cup in 2006, the DFB team was already supported by director Sönke Wortmann for the later feature film “Deutschland. A Summer’s Tale”.
In previous seasons, the Amazon series “All or Nothing” provided insights into the club life of teams such as Borussia Dortmund, FC Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
