The world’s largest online retailer Amazon has announced the closure of a large logistics center in Germany for the first time: The US group wants to close the logistics center in Brieselang near Berlin, as a company spokesman announced on Tuesday.

This was communicated to the employees. Appropriate talks and negotiations on the closure of the plant have been started with the local works council.

The Brieselang location near Berlin is considered the central hub for Amazon parcel shipping. The logistics center was opened in 2013.

According to reports, around 600 people are employed there, and around 400 are affected by the closure.
