Under the watchful eye of her parents and dozens of Dutch holidaymakers, Amalia brought the turtle, named after Amalia’s horse Mojito, to the sea. Mojito has recovered from five different tumors at the Sea Turtle Convention Center, likely caused by contaminated seawater. Amalia, in flip flops, was jubilant as the creature swam away. “This was so special, really great.”
One of the Dutch tourists on the beach then asked if Amalia would also come for a swim. The princess herself did not respond to this, but her mother did. ,,Tomorrow!” promised Queen Máxima.
The Oranges, on a tour of the Caribbean part of the kingdom, have Saturday and Sunday off. Monday morning they fly to Sint Maarten, to introduce Amalia to the three windward islands as well.
On Friday evening, the princess and her parents attend the Jump-in Tumba Festival in Willemstad.
