Amalia of Holland: farewell to life in the university residence
The life of a college student is usually full of opportunities to meet. A beautiful moment in which to get to know different people, even if often united by common interests. When the news came out that Princess Amalia of Holland was going to enroll in the first year of the University of Amsterdam, many had appreciated this choice of her.

Serious threats would also involve Prime Minister Mark Rutte, who intervened. “It’s terrible. Of course, I can’t say anything about the threats, or about the security measures put in place to counter those threats. But I can confirm that we are all doing our best to protect the princess“.
Princess Amalia had been the victim of stalking
Already in the past, Princess Amalia had had some personal safety issues.
For three years, in fact, she was persecuted by a stalker. From 2017 to 2020, the man (a 32-year-old former soldier) sent her nonstop messages of death and heavy threats.
The text of a note that he had sent to them had caused the Dutch people to discuss and worry a lot. “At the king’s party, I’ll take a selfie with you and then shake your hand until it’s crushed“.
In November 2020 the man was identified and sentenced to three years in prison. But apparently the punishments of the future ruler did not end with this sentence …
