Gordon does not agree with the criticism that he is a ‘narcissist’ or an ‘attention-crazy coke junkie’. “These are very painful allegations,” said the discredited television star.
Gordon’s Instagram break at the end of last year was very successful: the number of articles about him in the media decreased drastically. Apparently he started to miss the spotlight again, because he returned to Instagram and peddled his hasty romance with an Australian young man from A to Z. And that’s why he’s in the spotlight again.
‘Not a narcissist’
If you display your whole life on the Internet like this, then of course you also have to take criticism into account. Many people call Gordon a narcissist, Jan Roos invariably describes him as a ‘bipolar coke junkie’ and René van der Gijp states that he is a ‘borderliner’. What does the entertainer think of that?
Gordon tells it in the podcast go-getters, who was admitted just before his breakup. He states that people don’t really know him. And if they do know him? “Then they wouldn’t say the things they sometimes say. That I’m a narcissist and an attention-hungry coke junkie and I don’t know what all. Those are very painful accusations.”
Harmful
All that criticism damages his career, Gordon believes. “You say: ‘Will it hurt you then?’ Of course it is harmful. What do you think? When all those horrible things are said about you and you can’t defend yourself, that you have to keep your mouth shut because people say, ‘Don’t react, get over it.’ But guys… That will just cost you your food!”
Podcast host Ruud Hendriks: “Terrible things are said about other people, aren’t they? And they just keep on singing.”
Gordon: “It is all harmful.”
‘Started by myself!’
RTL Boulevard star Aran Bade recently called out that Gordon cannot point an accusing finger at the moment. According to him, he has himself to thank for the fact that his breakup is so widely reported. “Gordon is the one who started this sharing, isn’t he? Before we get that again that the media is blamed for all this misery.”
It seems that Gordon now also realizes this. He suddenly slows down and took his Instagram page offline yesterday. “He is starting a new chapter,” says Bart Ettekoven Show news. “A bare chapter, because his entire Instagram is empty.”
“Let’s hope not!”
Or is there something else behind it? “Isn’t that what artists do when there is big news to report?”, says Manuel Venderbos.
Bart then: “Yes, so it is also possible that he now thinks à la Beyoncé: I’m going to empty it completely – André Hazes has done it – and that he will announce that he will come up with new music tomorrow. Let’s not hope so, shall we?”
Gordon better keep a low profile for a while, says Jordi Versteegden on the Telegraaf site. “I kind of miss the self-reflection with Gordon. He must also realize that people are getting a bit Gordon-tired?”
