Alyson Annan becomes national coach of Chinese hockey players

Former Orange national coach Alyson Annan is the new national coach of China. Albert-Kees Manenschijn and former penalty corner specialist Taeke Taekema are also added to the staff.

Annan left the Orange squad at the beginning of this year after dissatisfaction with the performance culture in the women’s team. Annan, who lives in Amstelveen, has been the women’s national team coach since 2015. She was very successful with the hockey players. She took Olympic gold, one world title and became European champion three times.

In September 2014, Annan became the first female head coach in men’s hockey. She then went to work at Amsterdam. She succeeded former international Taco van den Honert.
