A lawyer specialized in prison law will take charge of the case
Dani Alves is at the doors of the trial which he faces, after being accused of raping a young woman at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. A few months before this important date, the former Barcelona player has made a drastic decision and has dispensed with the services of Cristóbal Martellwho has been his lawyer throughout the entire process.
From the program ‘And now Sónsoles’, journalist Carlos Quílez shared the news of the change of lawyer. As he recounted, the lawyer “is thinking more about the penitentiary repercussion of the sentence rather than about winning the case itself,” because it is clear that Alves will lose the trial. Given this, “a 35-year-old young woman, an expert in penitentiary law” will take the lead. Now it has become known that it was the athlete who made the decision.
The reactions from the former footballer’s entourage did not take long to arrive, his brother, Ney Alveshas spoken out through Instagram and has published a story sending his support to his brother.
“Never stop believing in God, even when everything around you seems to fall apart,” he began to relate. “Persevere in prayer. “God opens paths for those who do not give up in the midst of trial.”he added along with a photograph of the two.
But that is not all. Ney Alves wanted to publish a headline that says “Dani Alves changes lawyer and will be defended by a woman in the trial.” Something to which he wanted to add another message: “Glory to God, may your will always be done in our lives, Lord.”
“Can they betray you? Yes. Can they humiliate you? Also. What you can be sure of is that no one can take away from you what God has prepared for you. Never give up,” the footballer wrote to his brother.
