Altan, Cipputi and Pimpa. The world as it is… and as it should be: the exhibition in Pistoia

dfor more than fifty years the public loves them and today the metalworker and the polka-dot dog are the main protagonists of Altan, Cipputi and Pimpa. The world as it is… and as it should be. Unmissable exhibition that collects original plates, unpublished works, sculptures in foam and reproductions, fruit of the imagination, pencil and shrewd irony of the famous cartoonist.

A spectacular, varied, entertaining exhibition itinerary, capable of stimulating reflections on the choices that await us if we really want to live in a more humane and respectful society. With a rich selection of original and unpublished drawings, the exhibition also offers play spaces for children and hosts Altan’s characters and animals reproduced in colored foam by the sculptor Pietro Perotti.

The first section of the exhibition, entitled The world as it ishosts the cartoons starring the worker Cipputi and his Italo alter ego, the couple Ugo and Luisa, Trino, Colombo and Ada and other of Altan’s most famous characters. An overview that, with the language of satire, also calls into question historical names in Italian politics, such as Andreotti, Craxi and Bossi.

In the second part, The world as it should bethe comics especially loved by children are exhibited: Pimpa and Kamillo Kromo, together with other unpublished drawings and comics by Altan.
