After various trips to Russia, the Rammstein singer is heading west this time. For the duet “Le Jardin Des Larmes” (The Garden of Tears) with the French pop chanson singer Zaz, Till Lindemann ended up in a barren desert. There the hydrogen-blonde wriggles in the elaborate video bleeding in the dust.
Before that he lets his organ sound as the second voice in a white suit. Sometimes rehearsed in French, sometimes in German “When nightingales long under the stars, I enter my little realm of tears,” he dumps. The lavish scenario in a muggy Maghreb palace illustrates a love drama with a morbid ending under a red sun. Morbid like Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue once did in “Where The Wild Roses Grow”.
In a making-of video, Zaz has now published some emo additives to the desert adventure with the Berlin jack-of-all-trades on her YouTube channel. “We’re both romantic, we’re good guys who get along well. He’s a really nice guy,” Zaz analyzes their creative tête-à-tête.
The song “Le Jardin Des Larmes” is taken from the Zaz album “Isa” which was released last October. The duet song, which has a lavish video budget, is considered a cross-national marketing measure in the industry. Whether the two will also visit each other live on stage on their upcoming tours was not officially ruled out.
