Also collective agreement in public transport: Qbuzz and Arriva staff receive 17 percent more wages

Employees of companies that offer both train transport and bus transport will receive 17 percent more wages in three years. Measures are also being taken to tackle the workload.

Trade unions and employers have agreed on this, they report on Tuesday. There have been several strikes in the sector over the past six months. The multimodal collective labor agreement applies to around 1300 people at the companies Arriva, Keolis and Qbuzz.

Strike

In recent times, the regional transport collective labor agreement has also been regularly suspended. An agreement was reached there for the approximately 13,000 employees at the beginning of last month.

“It was a long process and we are happy that we came out of it. Not only in terms of wages, but also in terms of reducing work pressure,” says trade union official Edwin Kuiper.

It has been rumbling in the sector since December last year. Unions and employers did not come together and to enforce the demands, the staff laid off work a number of times. Unions and employers have been back at the table since the beginning of April.

To combat the workload, it has been agreed in the new agreement that employees work according to the same schedule every week as much as possible. The minimum hourly wage in the sector will be raised to 14 euros.
