“A large part of this Saturday will be sun-drenched,” Roosmarijn Knol of Weerplaza told Saturday morning in the radio program ‘Weekend’ on Omroep Brabant. “Maybe a small cumulus cloud here and there, but the sun predominates.

In West Brabant, at Bergen op Zoom on the waterfront, it will be about 31 degrees. But in the Kempen and around Eindhoven it can reach 34 degrees this afternoon.” There is not too much wind from the east to southeast.

“Hail, thunder, wind gusts… the whole bingo card Sunday.”

The heat lasts shorter this time than a few weeks ago. “It’s really reserved for this weekend. We also have high temperatures of about 30 degrees on Sunday, but then the humidity is a lot higher. Then we really have that clammy, sweltering summer weather. Then you already feel that a thunderstorm might be coming.”

On Sunday morning, West Brabant in particular has a chance of a few rain or thunderstorms. “In the afternoon, those showers seem to gain a bit of momentum. They can therefore be a bit heavier. With hail, thunderstorms, wind gusts… the whole bingo card, pretty much. But the question is a bit whether those showers in the morning that don’t get in the way outside in the afternoon. It’s all very closely related. We have to keep an eye on how that situation will develop. But the signs for thunderstorms are quite clear.”

The KNMI has announced weather code yellow for Brabant for Saturday (4-8 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.-5 p.m.). With this, the weather institute warns of possible thunderstorms with a chance of hail and strong gusts of wind.
