Alpine Super Combination – Anna-Lena Forster “oversleeps” the Super-G – Paralympics

6.07 seconds behind – almost an eternity. 6.07 seconds – that’s how much separate Anna-Lena Forster and the Japanese Momoka Muraoka in the super combination at the Paralympics after the super-G.

With too cautious a run with little risk, Forster already lost all chances of gold in the first part of the super combination. The third day of competition should be her day. In 2018, Forster won gold in this discipline.

The almost impossible catch-up race

In Beijing 2022 she has already won two silver medals. But twice she had to line up behind Muraoka. Forster is the much better driver in the slalom. But catching up for more than six seconds seems almost impossible. Forster even has to fight for a podium place while Muraoka drives towards her third gold.

In the intermediate classification she is only fourth. Even a podium finish is 2.68 seconds short.

Forster has the Super-G “oversleep”

“Six seconds is quite a number”Forster said: “A medal is certainly still realistic, but I actually aimed for the gold today.” She knew what was going on “To be honest, not exactly. But I apparently slept through the run. And Momoka accelerated because she knew that I was stronger in slalom.”

Disappointments for Rieder, Rothfuss, Ristau

In the standing class, Anna-Maria Rieder is after the Super G in sixth place. But she is already several seconds behind on the podium places.

Andrea Rothfuss (standing) and Noemi Ristau (visually impaired) experienced disappointments: Both were eliminated and are only spectators at the slalom (from 6.45 a.m. in the live stream on Sportschau.de).
