Alpine skiing: Ski superstar Shiffrin wins the overall World Cup

Courchevel (AP) – Ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin has won the overall World Cup for the fourth time in her career. The two-time Olympic champion finished second in the season finale in Super-G to finally shake off pursuer Petra Vlhova from Slovakia.

Ragnhild Mowinckel from Norway won the World Cup in Courchevel. Third was Michelle Gisin from Switzerland.

Germany’s only starter Kira Weidle finished 20th in her weaker of the two speed disciplines. The Italian Federica Brignone, who finished 19th on Thursday, already had the small crystal globe in the Super-G before the World Cup final.
