12:12
Lena Wechner (AUT)
For Lena Wechner the race is over quickly. Unfortunately, she is eliminated after the first intermediate time.
12:11
Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger (GER)
The German starts well, but then ends up almost two seconds behind. The good pace doesn’t really help her much anymore, in the end it’s enough for 30th place.
12:09
Michelle Niederwieser (AUT)
For Niederwieser, things don’t really go any further forward. The lower part in particular seems to be causing a lot of problems here. Rank 31 and therefore no more points.
12:08
Delia Durrer (SUI)
The next Swiss woman doesn’t fare any better. The upper part was ridden well and the pace was right. But Durrer loses time before the finish and lines up on number 29.
12:06
Jasmina Suter (SUI)
Suter, on the other hand, has to fight against time and cannot reach the top pace. They initially go to 26th place.
12:02
Michaela Heider (AUT)
Heider remains well on track in the upper part and has a realistic chance of attacking the top 20. Thanks to a strong lower part, she manages to do this and initially ends up exactly in 20th place.
12:02
Isabella Wright (USA)
Even Wright can’t be completely shaken off here at first, but then he has to give up a bit. The pace isn’t quite enough to go further ahead. 26th place.
12:00
Stephanie Jenal (SUI)
Jenal made the fastest start of the day so far, but was already half a second behind in the sliding section. But she keeps it under control until shortly before the finish and first lets the twelve light up!
11:58
Ester Ledecka (CZE)
Ledecka, on the other hand, gets going more slowly. In the middle part it is already in the twenties range. She can’t make up any time in the technical section either. Rank 17 for her.
11:55
Priska Nufer (SUI)
Priska Nufer can’t take her really fast start so well. She loses some time, but travels relatively quickly. Currently 16th at the finish.
11:55
Emma Aicher (GER)
Let’s continue with Emma Aicher. She gets off to a good start at the top and can then stay on well. In the middle part she can really make up time! But then she drives past the gate! How annoying, after all she was really fast and on course for the top ten.
11:46
Race still interrupted
Nadine Fest can at least stand on her own two feet and is now being taken off the slopes by helicopter. We keep our fingers crossed!
11:38
Nadine Fest (AUT)
The race is over quicker than hoped! Fest doesn’t get over the top very well, it hits the gate and falls far over the slope. For now it falls by the wayside. Hopefully nothing worse happened to her.
11:37
Christina Ager (AUT)
Ager, on the other hand, doesn’t do so well in the upper part. But the tight turns cost her far too much time. That’s not nearly enough for a place in the sun; in 17th place she still remains behind Weidle.
11:35
Ariane Rädler (AUT)
Rädler sets the best time here in the upper part! There are marshals on the route just ahead of her, but they don’t seem to have influenced her any further. She makes up a bit of the gap, but she is very happy with sixth place at the finish!
11:31
Roberta Melesi (ITA)
Melesi takes a good line at the top and stays with it for now. But then she makes a serious mistake when changing edges, which of course costs a lot of time. The pace is high, but she still only manages 20th place.
11:30
Valerie Grenier (CAN)
A decent ride for the Canadian, who can of course make up a lot of time in the technical section. Shortly before the finish, she lost too much time again and slipped to tenth place.
11:26
Ilka Stuhec (SLO)
Her picture is also a bit more measured. There aren’t any major errors here, but from time to time she loses more and more time. She crossed the finish line well over two seconds behind the leading Hütter.
11:24
Jasmine Flury (SUI)
That was a quick start again! She loses a little bit of time after that, but Flury stays there. Then she puts up a good fight but keeps the deficit under control.
11:24
Romane Miradoli (FRA)
No, with these split times she cannot endanger the top. She doesn’t make any big mistakes, but the pace isn’t enough for the good times. She had to accept a deficit of almost two seconds after the run.
11:22
Franziska Gritsch (AUT)
Gritsch is already seven tenths behind after the upper part. Although it drives cleanly, it lacks the important aggressiveness a bit. This initially brings her to 16th place.
11:20
Alice Robinson (NZL)
Robinson starts better than Brignone, but can’t stick with it at first. However, she lost a lot of time in the technical section and finished 15th in 1:80 minutes.
11:18
Federica Brignone (ITA)
She can manage the small gap from the start with her fine driving style. But then things get down to business and Brignone stays just ahead of Hütter. However, on the approach to the finish she couldn’t reach the top speed and had to admit defeat in fourth place! Hütter, on the other hand, lets out a whoop of joy. She knows what this could mean for her.
11:15
Michelle Gisin (SUI)
Gisin spends a lot of time in the upper part and does a lot of work. At times she is already over a second behind. Despite the high speed, she can no longer improve this. She remains in tenth place behind Weidle.
11:13
Sofia Goggia (ITA)
Goggia starts off significantly slower than the competition. Despite a tight line, she remains almost four tenths behind. After entering the technical part, her aggressive style becomes her undoing and she falls! But nothing seems to have happened.
11:10
Joana Hählen (SUI)
And the next Swiss woman at the start. Joana Hählen doesn’t get along so well in the upper part and is clearly behind. Even in the technical passage she can’t noticeably catch up. Seventh place for her initially.
11:08
Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI)
Cornelia Hütter is still in charge. Can the Swiss change that? The start is a little slower, but that doesn’t bother Lara Gut-Behrami. Her good posture and slightly aggressive driving style put her in the lead despite minor problems at times. The Austrian seems to have been really strong at the bottom, because Gut-Behrami only managed third place.
11:06
Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR)
Are you getting off to a better start? No, not at first. Despite a good line, Lie loses a bit of time, but stays on track. This is rewarded further down when she briefly takes the lead despite a small wobble. She can’t save it to the finish, but she can rightly be celebrated for second place.
11:04
Marta Bassino (ITA)
The Italian above isn’t really fast. Bassino has a great driving style and stays close to the gates. As expected, she can catch up a lot in the technical part, but can’t catch up with anything in the target shot against Hütter. Second place so far.
11:02
Cornelia Hütter (AUT)
How is Hütter coping with the course? She takes the first part quickly and achieves the fastest time. She was able to carry her lead into the technical part and, to the cheers of the fans, she crossed the finish line half a second ahead. Great job!
11:00
Corinne Suter (SUI)
And with that, the first Swiss woman is on the slopes, which, by the way, are almost completely in the shade. She drives the upper part well, but then makes a small mistake in the approach to the swing. But she can save him and continue driving without any major problems. In the tighter part she loses a little more time and then finishes in third place. It’s still pretty tight here.
10:57
Ragnhild Mowickel (NOR)
Mowinckel doesn’t get up to speed as quickly in the upper part and loses time. Despite a decent run, the Norwegian can’t catch up much and remains in fourth place behind Weidle in the Zeil.
10:55
Stephanie Venier (AUT)
And another Austrian, who starts off much slower. Then she also makes a small intermediate swing, which seems to be part of the optimal line here. Shortly before the technical part, Venier catches up strongly and stays very, very close behind Puchner. Austrian double tour!
10:53
Mirjam Puchner (AUT)
Puchner’s start works well. Even after that, the Austrian is on the move quickly. She can make up a lot of time when gliding. In the technical part, Puchner was able to gain a lot of time and took the lead with a seven-tenths lead.
10:49
Laura Gauche (FRA)
The Frenchwoman doesn’t get away quite as quickly as Weidle and then stays on a similar line. After a few problems, however, she has to fight for a goal, but then drives a very fast passage. She makes up a bit of time, but can no longer catch the German. Second place initially.
10:49
Kira Weidle (GER)
Can Weidle put yesterday’s fall behind him? In the upper part she is definitely doing well and stays on track. Weidle is able to avoid Pirovano’s problems and crosses the finish line four tenths ahead. Let’s see what the trip was good for.
10:47
Laura Pirovano (ITA)
Let’s go! Laura Pirovano opens the Super G with a clean, rather offensive ride. The Italian has a few problems with the line in the middle section, but then finishes well. 1:14 minutes is the guide time here.
10:39
The favorite circle
The Italians are of course big favorites in the Super G. Federica Brignone (15) won the last race in this discipline in Val d’Isere, her teammate Sofia Goggia (13) was happy with third place.
Cornelia Hütter with starting number eight, Kajsa Vickhoff Lie with ten and of course Lara Gut-Behrami (11) should also have ambitions for a top placement.
10:35
Switzerland is also in a strong position
Switzerland has several starters who want and can get involved in the fight for the top ten places. Corinne Suter (7), Joana Hählen (12) and Michelle Gisin (14), among others, definitely have what it takes. Lara Gut-Behrami (11) could go even further. Jasmine Flury, Priska Nufer, Stephanie Jenal, Jasmina Suter and Delia Durrer complete the Swiss squad.
10:25
Austria with a chance of a podium
The Austrians are once again making full use of their 13 starting positions. Cornelia Hütter (8) will attack the podium, Mirjam Puchner (4) should want to be among the top ten. We’ll see soon whether Stefanie Venier (9) can repeat her sixth place from St. Moritz. With Franziska Gritsch (17), Ariane Rädler (23), Christina Ager (24) and Nadine Fest (25), four other athletes are taking part in the race within the top 30. The remaining six are then between numbers 31 and 60.
10:18
Weidle starts in second position
The DSV sends three athletes onto the slopes in Zauchensee. If everything goes well, Kira Weidle can set her sights on a top ten place. She starts in second position and has almost the entire field behind her. Whether that is an advantage or a disadvantage remains to be seen. However, she fell during training yesterday and was unsure for a long time whether she would actually compete today.
Emma Aicher (26) could be a surprise package. The results so far have been mixed; she finished her last Super G in Val d’Isere in tenth place.
Katrin Hirtl-Stanggassinger will start the race with start number 35. For her, the main aim is to achieve a better starting position for the next races with a decent result. Maybe there are also World Cup points in it?
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to the women’s Super G from Zauchensee. The race was scheduled to replace the Super G in St. Moritz, which was canceled due to weather conditions. The live ticker begins in time before the start of the race.
