Ramona Siebenhofer (AUT)
With Ramona Siebenhofer, is an Austrian also going very far? No, she jumps to fifth position! In some passages she lacks the last bit of self-confidence on the boards, but she still keeps her deficit within limits at 64 hundredths and can hope for a top ten result.
11:42
Joana Haehlen (SUI)
At the first intermediate times, all athletes are currently faster than Ester Ledecká, including Joana Hählen. The Swiss is now the first runner who can maintain her high speed to the finish and accordingly breaks the best time. With a lead of 18 hundredths, Hählen is now at the top of the rankings.
11:40 a.m
Sofia Goggia (ITA)
Now it’s up to Sofia Goggia, who can crown winning the small crystal globe for the best downhill skier with another top result! After a good start, however, the Italians used too much tactics, especially on the turning middle section, and thus gambled away the lead. After all, Goggia manages to take third place in the last few meters.
11:38
Romane Miradoli (FRA)
Most recently, Romane Miradoli surprisingly celebrated her first World Cup victory at the Super-G in Lenzerheide. Does she confirm her strong form on the home slope? It looks good! The Frenchwoman also starts faster than Ester Ledecká and asserts herself in the middle section with a strong technique. In the end, she’s just a tenth off the best time.
11:36
Corinne Suter (SUI)
Now Corinne Suter has to beat Ester Ledecká’s best time to maintain her minimal chance of winning the discipline classification! The Swiss gets off to a perfect start and sets two intermediate best times in the snow. After that, Suter’s position no longer fits, which is why she only finishes third and already gives Sofia Goggia the small crystal ball.
11:33
Stephanie Venier (AUT)
Stephanie Venier now provides the first reference value, although this winter she often did not get beyond a place in the lower midfield. With a nice line choice, the Austrian keeps the connection to Ester Ledecká at the beginning. But then she allows herself too many slipping phases after the middle part and immediately loses half a second.
11:32
Ester Ledecka (CZE)
The top athletes have all opted for lower starting numbers due to the rather warm temperatures, so Ester Ledecká opens the last descent of the season! The Czech twists her upper body slightly on the first two jumps, otherwise there are no obvious mistakes in her run. After a time of 1:27.28 minutes, Ledecká crossed the finish line.

Six Swiss women
The Swiss team is also represented with a large contingent at the World Cup finals in Courchevel. The focus is of course on Corinne Suter (start number 3), who is allowed to present Sofia Goggia in the long-distance duel for the discipline rating. With Priska Nufer (15) and Lara Gut-Behrami (18), the Alpine Republic is also sending two other downhill winners into the race, each of whom want to say goodbye to the summer with a sense of achievement. Joana Hählen (6), Jasmine Flury (12) and Michelle Gisin (14) also complete the team.
11:10
Big ÖSV team
Although the start list is fairly clear this time, there are still eight runners from the Austrian Ski Association. Ramona Siebenhofer (car number 7) and Mirjam Puchner (9) in particular have good podium prospects. But Stephanie Venier (2) and Christine Scheyer (10) can also benefit from their early numbers. In addition, Tamara Tippler (23), Ariane Rädler (25), Elisabeth Reisinger (26) and the junior world champion Magdalena Egger (27) complete the team for the final descent of the season.

DSV hopes for Weidle
Once again, the German Ski Association only sends Kira Weidle (start number 17) into the race. Before the season finale, the woman from Starnberg was in tenth place in the downhill classification and was second on the podium in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee at the beginning of the year. At the highlight of the season, the Olympic Games in Beijing, the 26-year-old narrowly missed the targeted medal in fourth place. Now Weidle is aiming for a happy end to the winter on the new “L’Eclipse” slope.
10:51
Duel for the overall World Cup
In the women’s World Cup finals, the main focus is on the showdown in the overall World Cup, in addition to the fight in the discipline classification. The decision about the big ball falls between Mikaela Shiffrin and the challenger Petra Vlhová, with the American taking a cushion of 56 points over the Slovakian in the final sprint of the season. While Shiffrin has already won the overall World Cup three times in her career, Vlhová prevailed there for the first time last winter.
10:38
Who gets the little crystal ball?
Only two athletes still have a chance of winning the small crystal ball for the discipline ranking before the final race. Sofia Goggia leads the ranking with 482 points and is clearly one of the favorites due to four wins in the previous eight runs. Corinne Suter from Switzerland is lurking behind the Italian, but with 407 points she is already a long way behind and has to hope for a small miracle. In contrast to Goggia, Suter was only able to win one downhill run in this World Cup season, but kept the upper hand at the Olympic Games of all places and snagged the gold medal.
