Mikaela Shiffrin amazes your competition. In Lienz/Austria she doesn’t race against Lena Dürr and Co., but in a world of her own. But she also knows that she is not unbeatable.
“I’m definitely human”asked Mikaela Shiffrin after her next fantastic victory at the Slalom in Lienz. The fact that the US superstar is even forced to make such statements is due to her never-ending success in the alpine worldcup and their sometimes unbelievable lead over the competition.
Won on Friday in Lienz Shiffrin ahead of the German Lena Dürr by a whopping 2.34 seconds. It was her 93rd worldcup-Victory – by far no man or woman has ever stood at the top of the alpine ski podium so often. With her success in the giant slalom the day before Shiffrin now with five victories this winter and consequently also in the overall worldcup at the top.
She definitely finds the dehumanization of her person “dangerous”revealed Shiffrin with a smile in the Sportschau interview: “People start saying I’m not human and then they see me in the next race and it’s like, ‘She’s human.'”
Shiffrin is extremely strong, but not unbeatable
